Patrick Nese MIDI Files - Arranged by Patrick NeseComing from a family with four violinists, four pianists, a trumpeter, two guitarists, a percussionist, a harmonica player, a clarinetist, a singer, and an organist, it's only natural that Patrick Nese would be musically inclined from a very young age. However, the young Nese lacked the patience to learn to play an instrument, and instead shifted his focus to mechanical devices, using a pocket screwdriver given to him by his father to open up anything from the desk fan on his nightstand to the family's washing machine (much to his mother's dismay) to get a better understanding as to how they work, and eventually found he had a talent for repairing such devices. Now, as for mechanical music, Patrick was first exposed to it at roughly age 5, at a family friend's house, where a player piano sat in the den, and was overjoyed to find an intersection between his two strongest interests. Around age 9, he took note of the "deafening but whimsical" tones coming from the center of the carousel at Idlewild Park, where a Wurlitzer Caliola sits. Later, Patrick began recording that organ and his beloved Wurlitzer 153 on the carousel at Kennywood Park, with the goal of "preserving their joyous sounds forever", and at age 17, first began arranging. Admittedly still unable to read music, the self-taught arranger works largely by ear. Patrick Nese arranges mostly pre-jazz and jazz tunes from the 1900s-30s, but occasionally ventures into 1950s-70s rock and roll, arranging in either Wurlitzer's style or his own unique style.
